Rules for #Madni Guests:
These are the BASIC rules for the users on #Madni. Most of them are self-explanatory and are just common, no-nonsense rules.
Please do not Swear in the channel. Please don't Flood the channel. (repetitive typing of same or other lines causing other chatters a nuisance) No perverted talk or indecent behavior will be tolerated! Nicks should not be overtly sexual or offensive in any way. Advertising for any other channel won't be tolerated. Please don't pester other chatters in private or on mains .If found violating any of the above mentioned points #Madni Operators will not hesitate to kick and ban you (if necessary). Hence, we request all the #Madni channel visitors/chatters/guests to stick to the above mentioned points and help us keep the channel clean and family oriented.
Rules for #Madni Operators:
Nick guide lines : In #Madni we try and avoid nicks which are overtly sexual or contain tasteless references to sexual organs. Please request Guests to change the nick. Be aware that the person may be a newbiez and may need your assistance with changing the nick or understanding the concept of registered nicks. Non-the-less Guest nicks are allowed in the channel and any chatter should not be kicked and banned because of that.
Personal Nicks : Please
be Oped in the channel only with the nick that is listed in the Op List.
Exceptions to this could be like, an addition of "Away" to your nick, when
you are away.
Disagreements with other
ops :> In case u disagree with an Op ,Do not argue in the channel. Maintain
your presence in the #Madni, in case you have any arguments or any problem
with another chatter, try to solve it in this channel and do not in #Madni..
You are not supposed to advertise or invite for channel #Madni. In case
the other op does not agree, do not escalate the matter. Talk to the SOps
about it. In case no SOp is around, send them a e-mail in Founder or a
memo and we will try and solve it amiably[memos wont be entertained much].
Do not de-op other ops. The channel is on secured mode and all the ops
are either AOp's or SOp's. De opping Ops reflects bad on the channel so
please refrain from it. Do not give temporary ops to any chatters. Please
follow the channel rules scrupulously. Fight between OPs adversely affects
image of the channel and also the ability of other ops to enforce the rules.
Kicking channel users
: In case a chatter is violating rules, first warn him. Then if the chatter
persists kick him. If the chatter has been violating rules over a period
of time, then there is no need to warn the person as the person is aware
of the rules. It is preferable to ban a user for say 60 sec for the second
violation. For further violations ban the person for a day. However, OP's
please don't ban entire IP's, unless really required. Many scripts for
IRC do this kind of ip banning, so please make sure before using such a
script. A ban on say *!*@giasdla.vsnl.net.in or even *!*@*.vsnl.net.in
would restrict a lot of our Indian chatters out of the channel. Similarly
we are not here to police the morals of the chatters. If a chatter is in
an undesirable channel ( a sexoriented channel) that is not enough reason
to kick out the chatter as long as the person follows our rules. You may
request the chatter to leave those channels. If the user has been violating
the rules over a period of time, and has ignored various requests to desist,
request a SOp to add the person to the akick list, giving the reasons etc.
This is to be used as a last resort. The addition to the akick list will
be at the discretion of the SOp/Founder. It is preferable to ban a user
for 30 min maximum, but that is to be determined by the OPs involved. Sometimes
longer is necessary. When you leave channel please remove any old bans
listed that you have set if possible.
